ABOUT SPICE HILL INTERIORS

Besides our bodies, there is nothing more human than home.

Homes are more than dwellings. They shape our routines, support our relationships, and nurture our well-being.

ABOUT KAREN KLINE

With more than 30 years of experience in residential interior design, Karen Kline has spent her career helping homeowners make informed decisions about the places they live. Her education in both law and interior design forms the foundation for her balanced approach that combines analytical thinking with creative problem-solving.

Karen’s decades of working directly with retail customers and other trade professionals through luxury home furnishings showrooms provides an uncommon understanding of the home furnishings industry, local architecture, and the many ways people actually live. Those formative years also shaped the communication skills that have become central to the Spice Hill Interiors approach.

Karen's connection to home extends beyond architecture and decoration. From an early age, she was drawn to creating places of refuge with found lumber and model homes from Legos, sparking a lifelong fascination with both the countless details that shape a home and the lasting impact those details have on the inhabitants.

Today, Karen collaborates with trusted manufacturers and local talent who share her commitment to creating homes that perform beautifully now and are poised to evolve gracefully.

EXPERIENCE

Founded in 2000, Spice Hill Interiors expanded in 2008 with the opening of a retail showroom in Ossining, NY, where clients could experience home furnishings, textiles, and custom window treatments firsthand. The studio was recognized by readers of Westchester Magazine as Best Interior Designer and Best Window Treatment Shoppe.

Karen’s expertise in custom window treatments deepened during more than a decade with The Shade Store, as the company grew from six showrooms to a national brand. Beginning as a Design Consultant in the showroom adjacent to corporate headquarters, she later contributed to technical resources, training manuals, and continuing education programs for design consultants across the country. Working alongside corporate leadership and cross-functional teams gave Karen a comprehensive understanding of custom window treatments from product development and fabrication to installation, motorization, and customer experience. That knowledge continues to inform every recommendation she makes today.

Today, Spice Hill Interiors provides full-service residential interior design, home furnishings, and custom window treatments throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Every project benefits from decades of design experience, specialized product knowledge, and the personal attention of a boutique studio.
