BATHROOMS
Transforming utilitarian spaces into relaxing retreats is one of the most rewarding aspects of interior design! Bathrooms present a unique opportunity to balance functionality with creativity, offering discrete moments for bold design choices—even in small spaces that can deliver a big impact.
Innovations in Bathroom Design
Recent advancements in plumbing fixtures, tile, and wet-rated lighting have made exceptional design more accessible and affordable. These innovations open up endless possibilities for creating bathrooms that are both visually stunning and highly functional.
Space Planning & Storage: The Foundation of Great Design
Effective space planning and storage solutions are critical in bathroom design. The vanity—whether stock, custom-built, or a converted piece of furniture—often serves as the primary or sole storage solution. Every detail should be thoughtfully considered to maximize both form and function.
Tile: Limitless Creativity and Expression
Tile design offers infinite potential, with a wide array of materials, shapes, sizes, textures, and finishes to explore. From ceramic and porcelain to natural stone, the options for patterns and installations are truly limitless. Tile can be applied to floors, walls, backsplashes, ceilings, and even recessed features or mosaics, creating a canvas for self-expression.
Fixtures That Make a Statement
Bathtubs, whether built-in for convenience or freestanding as a sculptural focal point, add personality and luxury to the space. Thoughtful lighting—whether task-oriented or mood-enhancing—is another essential element that ensures your bathroom functions beautifully while creating the perfect ambiance.
Timelessness and Durability
Because bathrooms are permanent features of a home, careful consideration should be given to their design. Prioritizing timeless aesthetics and durable materials ensures they remain stylish and functional for years to come.
At SPICE HILL INTERIORS, we approach bathroom design with creativity, expertise, and a commitment to creating spaces that reflect your unique style. Explore our portfolio to see how we’ve helped clients transform their bathrooms into stunning, functional retreats.
KITCHENS AND DINING AREAS
Kitchen design is a harmonious blend of function, precision, and aesthetics, offering both unique challenges and immense satisfaction. As the heart of the home, the kitchen requires thoughtful planning to ensure it meets both practical needs and stylistic goals.
The Design Process
Every great kitchen begins with a thorough understanding of how the space will be used. This includes:
Inventorying current and future appliances, cookware, dishes, and glassware
Evaluating storage and workflow needs
Considering how the kitchen connects with adjacent spaces in open floor plans
Through meticulous space planning, we balance mass and height to create rhythm and flow, assigning each cabinet and drawer a specific purpose. Flooring, countertops, backsplashes, cabinetry, light fixtures, faucets, and hardware are carefully selected to reflect the home’s architecture and create a cohesive, welcoming gathering place.
Options for Kitchen Updates
For those not seeking a full renovation, kitchen facelifts offer an eco-conscious and impactful alternative:
Refinishing or refacing existing cabinets
Replacing countertops and/or backsplashes
This approach preserves a functional layout and solid cabinetry while transforming the outward appearance, delivering powerful results with less disruption.
Modern Dining Trends
The evolution of kitchen design extends beyond the traditional table. Island countertops with seating have become a focal point in many open floor plans, necessitating seamless connections between the kitchen and adjacent dining or living areas.
At SPICE HILL INTERIORS, we combine creativity, precision, and experience to transform kitchens into functional, stylish spaces that serve as the true centerpiece of your home. Explore our portfolio to see how we bring vision and practicality to every project.
BUILT-IN FURNITURE
Custom Built-In Cabinetry Portfolio
Custom cabinetry offers unmatched versatility and personalization, making it the ideal solution when off-the-shelf options fall short. Whether concealed within a closet or designed to seamlessly coordinate with your home’s surroundings, built-in cabinetry enhances functionality, organization, and the overall aesthetic of your space.
Why Choose Custom Cabinetry?
Unlike stock or even semi-custom furniture, custom built-ins provide complete control over:
Materials and finishes
Hardware selection
Precise dimensions to fit unique spaces
Custom cabinetry not only elevates the appearance and organization of your home but also adds long-term value by optimizing space and tailoring functionality to your needs.
Solutions for Downsizing and Modern Living
If you’re transitioning from a larger home with separate rooms for various tasks, custom built-ins are the perfect way to consolidate and maximize your space. They can unify multiple functions into one efficient, beautifully crafted solution.
With the growing importance of home offices, there’s a rising demand for personalized workstations and storage solutions. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry can create a workspace that blends seamlessly into your home while catering to your unique needs.
Attention to Detail
Successful custom cabinet design incorporates more than just aesthetic appeal. Functional details such as outlets, integrated lighting, and innovative accessories ensure your cabinetry not only looks stunning but also works effortlessly for your daily life.
At SPICE HILL INTERIORS, we specialize in designing and crafting custom built-in cabinetry that reflects your style and meets your needs. Explore our portfolio to see how we’ve transformed homes with tailored solutions that combine beauty and practicality.
CUSTOM WINDOW TREATMENTS
Custom window treatments are essential for enhancing your home’s comfort, security, and style. Without the right treatments, you risk issues like insomnia, damage to art, furniture, and flooring, wasted energy, and compromised privacy.
With over a decade of experience specializing in window treatment design and installation, I focus on every technical detail—such as accurate measurements, product attributes, projection, stack, and advanced solutions like motorization. I am skilled in handling complex installations, including corners and bay windows, ensuring a perfect fit for every space.
At Spice Hill Interiors, we offer a carefully curated selection of high-quality, durable materials, and partner with a dedicated local team of expert installers. This allows us to deliver innovative, functional, and visually stunning window treatments at competitive prices.
Whether you want your window treatments to blend seamlessly into your design or stand out as a focal point, each solution is custom-measured and designed to fulfill its purpose—whether aesthetic or practical.
LIVING ROOMS
Living rooms have changed. Once so formal that furniture was kept protected in plastic coating, our culture has finally relaxed and we have started actually “living” in these spaces.
Depending on the size of the home and other rooms available, a living room can be an exclusive place to impress and entertain or a comfortable location for casual gatherings and unwinding.
Open floor plans have become popular in the past decade, connecting the kitchen and dining area with the living room for better circulation. Whether contained within 4 walls or “open,” a living area is the hub and sets the tone for the rest of the home.
BEDROOMS
Of all rooms in the home, because we spend the most time there, the bedroom likely has the most influence on our lives. We count on it for necessary sleep, but ideally it also offers comfort, relaxation, and privacy while we’re awake.
Bedrooms come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and, in addition to accommodating the largest piece of furniture in the home, sometimes double as home offices, gyms, libraries or music studios. Storage needs should be resolved before all else, mindful of the need to navigate around in the dark.
Appropriate lighting can be achieved through ceiling fixtures or lamps but should be task oriented and equipped with dimmers.
The right window treatment is essential for both functional and visual design success.
Finally, the bed itself should be proportionate and dressed with inviting textiles for a true sanctuary experience.
